AARP lobbies for senior citizen benefits at the national, statewide and local level and is a social group with service to others in mind. It meets 9:30 a.m. to noon the second Monday at the Community Room at the Fernandina Beach Police Department, 1525 Lime St. Call John Megna at 277-2143.

Food drive today at Dalton High
All this week, Dalton High School clubs and organizations have hosted a "Cats Care" school-wide food drive to benefit area community food banks during the holiday season. Today, Nov. 21, members of the community may participate by dropping off food at the school from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Christmas parade entries wanted for Dec. 6 event
PRINCETON ? The Princeton Lions Club would like to invite Bureau County businesses, clubs and organizations to enter a float or unit in the annual holiday Princeton Christmas Parade.

Helen Montgomery, 86
Helen Gates Montgomery, a longtime resident of Redlands, died Nov. 12 at Loma Linda University Medical Center due to a stroke. She was 86.
